Laura is a very smart girl who also enjoys dancing a lot. Her childhood has been very difficult since she only lives with her Grandmother. I do know that her Mom lives and the US but I do not know about her Father. Talk about her father is very difficult for her and for that reason I have not gone deep on that. She has been my neighbor for my entire life and I know a lot about her. I consider that she had a very difficult childhood and sometimes she cries for that. It is not easy for someone not to have met your real mother in person in your whole life. However, I think she has been very brave and I admire her for that.
Her academic background is very interesting. She has studied all her life in Catholic institutions. However, she is not Catholic. I am much familiarized with the places where she has studied and I know that they are very strict but the education is very good. However, sometimes they deal more with the religion thing than the education. Nevertheless, she has gotten a wide variety of knowledge and even when she is still in High School she knows a lot about universal knowledge. This is basically her background.
The physical changes that I have observed are very similar to the ones in the theory. The growth of under-arm, getting taller was around 12 to 13 years old like the theory says. However, I do not know about her period and I do not pretend to ask her. I remember that when she was 14 she was taller than his old brother who was 17 at that time. It is very weird but also similar to the Theory since she started to have the changes before the men.
In contrast to the theory, I consider that the looking for identity part has taken longer than normal. I have my own theory and I am pretty sure all of this deal with the fact that se did not raise with her Mom nor Father and that is what probably has affected her the most.
The theory also claims "As well as growing taller, starting to shave or having periods, people of this age start to think and feel differently. They make close relationships outside the family, with friends of their own age. Relationships within the family also change. Parents become less important in their children's eyes as their life outside the family develops." In her case, this is not true since she still wants to be at home. Also she consider that the most important people in her life are the ones who are in her home. For that reason, the theory does not apply in here.
